HiHiHaHa! La Grande Bibli' Cracra

performance, 80 min, French, 2026
In a wet and very special library, three personified books—played by Alina Arshi, Mayara Yamada, and Léa Katharina Meier—invite you on a cringe yet sweet adventure through their archive of feelings. There you will encounter emotion vacuum cleaners, books of pleasure in the closet, incontinent dogs, inner children, a grumpy fridge, very normal victims, and many other lovable and frightening characters. With laughter and fabulation, the books in this library invite us to approach shame as a source of knowledge and potential future joy. “HiHiHaHa! La Grande Bibli’ Cracra” (HiHiHaHa! The Nasty Library) is a magical and grotesque tale that dives into the relationship between traumatic memory and fiction. Defying its own rules, this library takes pleasure in moving at a rhythm between dream, unconscious, and nightmare, and offers a critical and playful—sometimes mean and cruel—glance at the norms and morals of authority structures, such as archives, school, family, or heterosexuality.

Following an initial work-in-progress presented during the Roma Calling residency at the Swiss Institute and the Short Theater Festival in Rome in 2024, “HiHiHaHa! La Grande Bibli’ Cracra” (approx. 80 minutes) will be presented in its final form as a co-production over six dates from September 22 to 27, 2026, at the Arsenic in Lausanne, followed by performances at the TU-Théâtre de l’Usine in Geneva from December 10 to 12, 2026. Additional tour dates in Switzerland and internationally are to be announced.
